ROME, Italy — Father Lucio De Stefano, MSC, General Postulator, appoints Father André Dumas, MSC, postulator of the cause of beatification of Father Émilien Tardif, MSC. Father Dumas is a member of the Province of the Dominican Republic.
Father Émilien Tardif was born on June 6, 1928 in Canada. He made his profession in 1949. After his priestly ordination in 1955, he worked for many years in the Dominican Republic.

Father Tardif devoted the greater part of his life to the service of the poor. After being miraculously healed of a serious illness, he spent the rest of his life travelling throughout the world to preach the Good News.
He published several books: Jesus is the Messiah, In the Fire of Love, and The New Pentecost, etc. In 1982 he founded the Charismatic Community of the Servants of the Living Christ, which is now present in more than 25 countries. Father Tardif died in 1999 while leading a retreat in Argentina.
